Fire Prevention Week
Fire Prevention Week is sponsored by the
National Fire Protection Association (N F P A). N F P A has sponsored Fire
Prevention Week since 1922.
Cooking, heating, and electrical fires are among the nation's leading causes
of home fires, accounting for an annual average of nearly 50% of home fires and
almost one-third of associated fire deaths. This year the theme is "Cover All
the Bases and Strike Out Fire"
