Weeds - Wild Violet
Back to Weeds

'Q' (Question)  (May) I am a retiree who passes time by puttering with my lawn and flower bed. I have pine bark mulch around my azaleas, but wild violets also grow abundantly. Is there a herbicide that will destroy the violets without harm to the azaleas?

'A' (Answer)  They are not easy to kill because they do have a little bulb or corm underground. The only thing that would give you any help in the flower bed would be round-up or similar glyphosate product. Just be sure to shield your azaleas as you spot spray.
