(May) I
recently moved to northern Arkansas, and find my yard speckled all over with
things that look like clumps of chives or garlic. What are these things? Are
they edible?
Chances are they are wild garlic, or possibly wild onions. They are a common weed, and can take over. If you don't want to fight them--eat them, they are both edible, as long as they haven't been sprayed with chemicals. Wild garlic is most common and has a hollow stem, while wild onion has a solid stem.
