  My husband purchased a new plant this summer that we need advice for wintering over. The name on the tag was Allamanda. We look forward to your instructions regarding this plant.

  This plant you have correctly assumed, will not overwinter outdoors. Allamanda should be treated like all other tropicals, and the vine brought indoors and placed in a cool, sunny room. It looks very much like a yellow mandevilla. Don’t be surprised if some tip die back should occur with the lower light and drier conditions indoors. It should bloom all summer long, and can give you blooms indoors with enough light.
