I would say the tree in question is a hawthorn, not a holly. There are numerous hawthorn trees that do well in Arkansas, but the one with the parsley-like foliage is usually Crataegus marshallii. They typically have thorns on the branches, beautiful flowers and fruit, and often quite beautiful bark.
