Roses - Rooting
Back to Roses

'Q' (Question)  I rooted several rose plants this spring from cuttings. They are now well rooted, and growing nicely in their containers. When should I plant them in the ground? How should I care for them in their containers for the winter months, if I need to wait? (Little Rock)

'A' (Answer)  By all means, plant them. They will be much easier to care for in the ground, than in a container. By planting now, they should get a nice root system established and be ready to take off next spring. Be sure the planting site receives ample sunlight and that the soil is well drained. Mulch, water and watch them grow.
