Insects - June Bugs
Back to Insects

'Q' (Question)  I have June bugs really bad. Does this mean I have grub worms in my lawn. What can I do to get rid of these. When I turn on my porch light, I have hundreds of them.

'A' (Answer)  Grub worms are the larval stage of June bugs or June beetles. The life cycle varies with different species. Some mature in one season, while others have a two to three year period. When you dig in the soil to plant do you see many grubs? These are white curved grubs with a brown head. Large numbers can cause problems in both your lawn and garden. Granular insecticides such as diazinon, dursban or Oftanol should control them.
