Bulbs - Easter Lily
Back to Bulbs

'Q' (Question)  (May) I'd like to plant the lily I got at Easter in my garden. I'm guessing it can take sun but I want to be sure. Also, are there any special ground preparations?

'A' (Answer)  Easter lilies do extremely well in the garden. Make sure they are planted in a well drained location in full sun -- or at least six hours of sunlight. If you can, work in some organic matter. The plants may begin to die back sooner than you would expect this year, because they were forced to bloom early, but they usually begin to grow again. Easter lilies won't bloom at Easter next year, but they will bloom in late May or June.
